Emir Muhammadu Sanusi (II) of Kano, has sacked Alhaji Auwalu, the Maja Siddin Sarkin Kano, for celebrating the tribunal victory of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Auwalu was said to have been celebrating with other residents when Ganduje had been passing through the palace from the airport on his way to the Government House. Reports say he had also raised the portrait of the late Emir of Kano, Sarkin Ado Abdullahi Bayero, during the celebration.

The Maja Sidden Sarkin Kano, who is in-charge of decorating the Emir’s Horse, was also asked to vacate his residence of over 30 years.
The Nation reports that the development has caused serious disaffection within the Kano Emirate Council.
A Palace source, who craved anonymity, said Emir Sanusi who was not in Kano during Ganduje’s reception was highly angered over the action of Auwalu.
The Emir’s action is believed to be linked to the frosty relationship between him and the governor.

The Nation also reports that a palace source confirmed that members of the Emirate Council were warned against attending any government function without approval.
