A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as false, claims that its presidential candidate for the 2023 election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is sick and recuperating in a London hospital.

The source, who was privy to the former Lagos State governor’s foreign trip, said the 70-year-old is hale and hearty, and that he is in the United Kingdom (UK) to see his family.

“Tinubu is not sick. I saw him before he travelled on Saturday night to London,” Vanguard quotes the source as saying.

The health status of the APC presidential candidate has continued to generate concerns about his suitability for leadership of Africa’s most populous nation.

Tinubu, however, dismissed criticisms about his frail health, saying he does not need physical strength to be Nigeria’s president.

Tinubu, who is taking his first shot at the presidency, is one of the frontline candidates for the 2023 election.
