Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, claims the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi will stop visiting churches after he loses the 2023 presidential election.
Omokri in a tweet on Friday alleged that Obi who has been leveraging on churches for his political campaign never knew of some of the churches’ existence before he started his presidential campaign, he claims the Labour Party’s presidential candidate has attended over 20 church events this year alone.
“This year alone, Peter Obi has attended events at over 20 different churches. This is a man who did not even know of the existence of these churches a year ago. And by the time he loses in February, he will forget about those churches again. Election religion!” Omokri wrote.
His comment comes against wide criticism of Obi’s habit of taking his presidential campaign to churches. Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike has however warned Nigerians to be wary of politicians carrying their political campaigns into churches.
