Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has hinted about dumping the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.
In a cryptic tweet on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday, he said 2023 must provide a southern president because President Muhammadu Buhari is having a two-term northern presidency.
He tweeted, “The current President of Nigeria is a 2-term Northern Presidency, thus implying that it MUST be a Southern Presidency in 2023 or NOTHING. Awa ‘South’ lo kan’. Nigerians should await details soon.”

According to him, the constitution of the PDP provides for a rotational presidency.
“The PDP Constitution provides for a rotational Presidency. Section 3(c) provides that the Party shall pursue its aims & objectives by “adhering to the policy of the rotation & zoning of Party & Public elective offices in pursuance of the principle of equity, justice and fairness,” he said.
Fayose is a known supporter of Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, who was ignored for the Vice-President slot as Abubakar Atiku settled for Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
