Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has said that almost all homes in Nigeria have someone supporting Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in respect of the 2023 election.
Newsbreak reports that according to Obaseki, the two major political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) don’t appeal to many Nigerians anymore.
“The future of our politics in this country is changing. I don’t know whether you are closely watching what is going on. The level of disenchantment with the existing parties,” Obaseki said in a video sighted by this newspaper.
“I’m sure in all our homes, we have so many people who call themselves ‘Obidients’. I don’t know whether you have them in your house. Just ask them, ‘which party are you’? They say ‘Obidient’ [laughs].
“They don’t want us. They are not talking about APC or PDP, they are looking for alternatives. And there are much more. You see all of them queueing for PVCs now. They are not looking the direction of APC or PDP. They are looking for alternatives.”
