Festus Keyamo, a spokesperson for the Tinubu, Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, has argued that age has nothing to do with governance, contradicting Peter Obi, who has continued to advise Nigerians not to vote for elderly people.
Keyamo, whose party’s candidate is not only ageing but also rumoured to be ill, argued in a tweet on Tuesday that Obi, who is currently urging Nigerians to vote for a young candidate, worked with Atiku Abubakar, an aging presidential candidate in 2019
“The only thing I can tell you is that issue of governance has nothing to do with age’! Peter Obi in 2019 when campaigning for Atiku. In 2023, he says don’t vote for the older candidates. Now, we see some of those who seek to govern this country are the worst hypocrites around!” Keyamo wrote.
His remark comes as younger Nigerians continue to advocate for a young president.
