2023

Reno Omokri, former Special Assistant on social media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has said members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), consider a Peter Obi presidency as ‘a means to achieving Biafra’.

Omokri has been locked in an online battle with supporters of Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 election.

Omokri, a diaspora-based social media personality who supports Atiku Abubakar, presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alleged that majority of the supporters of the former Anambra State governor are Biafra separatists.

“This fellow is just one of thousands of people who are Obidients by day and IPOB by night. Go to his profile. After defending @PeterObi, he starts posting Biafra propaganda. These are the same people that attack me day in day out!

“They see Peter as a means to Biafra,” Omokri wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday evening, in response to a critic.
