As the 2023 election approaches, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has criticised those “muting the idea of disqualifying” Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the ruling party, in the primary election coming up later this month.
Newsbreak reports that there have been speculations that some aspirants of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may dump their party for an alternative platform if they fail to secure the tickets.
One of the presidential aspirants who has been rumoured to be considering an alternative platform like the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is Tinubu.
Some supporters of Tinubu had advised him to activate a Plan-B in case he fails to secure the APC ticket to realise his ‘life-time’ ambition.
But a staunch supporter of the former Lagos State Governor, Igbokwe, feels Tinubu should outrightly emerge the APC flagbearer.
“Who is muting the idea of disqualifying Asiwaju in the house of APC he built almost single handedly? Who please?” Igbokwe wrote on his known Facebook page on Sunday.
