Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Women Affairs, Hon. Asmau Gogo, has called on the women in the state to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise to get themselves equipped ahead of the 2023 political dispensation in the country.
Hon. Gogo said the call became necessary following the need for women in Kogi to get involved the more in politics.
According to Hon. Gogo: “It is a great thing to know that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened another potter for Nigerians to get their PVC once again.
“As women, we need to seize this privilege to get our PVC because it is our power especially now that the 2023 presidential race is drawing closer.
“If you don’t have your PVC before now, you misplaced yours, if stolen, destroyed, you want to move yours to another Local Government for certain reason (s), whatever it is, just approach INEC Office and the issue will be resolved.”
She described women as incredible and unique beings, saying that their commitment to a course was second to none. She noted that there was need for them to get their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to enable them perform their franchise in the coming elections in the country.
She said that the All Progressives Congress (APC), has created the right platform for women across the country to showcase their leadership ability, calling on women to register with the APC. She also enjoined them to take the message to all nooks and crannies, saying the quest of a better society can only be achieved collectively.
She informed Kogi women that Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello of Kogi State has given women 35% affirmation in governance, adding that the women should take advantage of such rare gesture to belong in the state political arena.
Hon Gogo therefore commended the Governor for his leadership qualities, stressing that the Governor have been able to change several narratives for good in Kogi State
