Former Lagos Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Olawale Oluwo, is set to challenge Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2023 Lagos State governorship election.
Newsbreak reports that Oluwo who is the Coordinator of the Ambode Campaign Organisation (AMCO) on Wednesday submitted All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to vie for the position.
Meanwhile, this online news platform understands that incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been endorsed by the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and other key stakeholders in the party within and outside Lagos.
While submitting his nomination forms at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu stated that his administration has re-positioned Lagos from what it used to be under the previous administration.
“And we have grown the city from what it used to be three to four years ago before we took over. Now it receives the highest foreign direct investments because the environment is safe and secured,” he said.
