Presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore on Friday said that he doesn’t see Peter Obi. Labour Party’s candidate, as a threat to his presidential ambition.
Sowore who spoke during a channels TV broadcast on Friday described Peter Obi as part of the old system that the country needed to get rid of.
“Why would I see Peter Obi as a threat, peter Obi is part of the old system that I’ve always fought. I understand where he is coming from, this is 1999 repeated, Nigeria wants a change some young people are genuinely interested in change; different direction and then they’re presented with somebody who works for the establishment, somebody who has been in PDP, APGA comes back to PDP, then Labour Party. He is not new to the system somebody that was eight years as governor of a state,” Sowore said.
Obi has gained the backing of Nigerian youths who perceive the need to abandon the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the wake of their inability to eradicate insecurity and stabilize the country’s economy.
However, Sowore, who is also running for the country’s presidency, has been harshly critical of Obi, accusing him of being a part of the old system that must be replaced.
