Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for president, has declared that he will celebrate Christmas with Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Ibaji and Idah, the historical center of Igalaland.
The celebration will be the first of its kind for a politician in Kogi State, and he is anticipated to attend along with other Catholic adherents from that state.
Obi is doing this in the spirit of celebrating Christmas with the less fortunate, according to a statement released on Friday by the Kogi State Chairman of the party, Ahmed Mohammed, and provided to newsmen in Lokoja by the state publicity secretary, Idakwo Emmanuel.
“In the spirit of the joyful season, His Excellency, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Gregory Obi, will be celebrating Christmas day, December 25 with less privileged living in the IDP camps around Idah and Ibaji areas,” the statement read.
