As the 2023 election approaches, Aisha Yesufu, a prominent social activist, on Saturday said Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), should blame itself for its “woes”.
Newsbreak reports that in an apparent reference to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Yesufu questioned the PDP for ‘deciding not to go with the people’s favourite’.
“For the 2023 election PDP decided to not go with the people’s favourite. Blame PDP for their woes! They brought it upon themselves!” Yesufu wrote on her verified Twitter handle.
Earlier, Yesufu had revealed her support for Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and the 2019 Vice-Presidential candidate of the PDP.
He dumped the PDP for the LP last month when it became clear he would not be getting the PDP’s presidential ticket for the 2023 election.
The 60-year-old has a huge following online and is considered one of the frontline candidates in the 2023 presidential election.
