Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) Worldwide has said that it is supporting the presidential bid of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election.

Newsbreak reports that the acting youth leader, OYC, Jones Onwuasoanya disclosed this in an interview with Vanguard on Monday.

“We are going to queue behind Peter Obi as the most credible candidate not because he is from South-East. It is just coincidental that he’s from the South-East. Our campaign was that the two major parties should adopt candidate from the South-East and when that has failed, we are now looking for the most competent, most credible to be the next Nigerian president and we feel that person is Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party,” Onwuasoanya said.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mocked Obi and his ‘Obidient’ movement, saying it exists only on social media.

Speaking with newsmen on Sunday in Abuja, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yakubu Murtala Ajaka claimed that Obi has never been a threat to the party presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
