Che Oyinatumba, a former Chairman of the FCT Chapter of the Labour Party (LP), says Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the party, will exit the platform in the event he triumphs at the presidential polls in 2023.

Oyinatumba, therefore, rallied support for Omoyele Sowore, presidential standard-bearer of the African Action Congress (AAC), who he believes will not decamp to the ‘two evils’ – the All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, is one of the frontline candidates for the 2023 presidential election. He has a strong support, especially on social media.

“Now we can agree that if Obi wins this election, he would leave,” Onyinatumba said at a programme held last Friday in Abuja, in honour of a late veteran activist, Segun Sango.

“It would be easier and more manageable for us to rally round a Sowore and his party, or bring him to the Labour Party and give him the structure.”
