A public commentator, David Omidire, has said Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and presidential aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, is a “pretender”.
Newsbreak.ng reports that Obi had on March 24 declared his interest to contest the 2023 presidential election. Subsequently, a youth group purchased the nomination form for him.
The national convention to elect the PDP’s presidential candidate will take place on May 28.
Offering his view via his Facebook page on Friday, Omidire said unlike presidential hopefuls like Bola Tinubu, Nyesom Wike and Rotimi Amaechi who all “don’t pretend”, Obi is cunning.
“I like Tinubu, Wike and Amaechi because they don’t pretend. Unlike Peter Obi who is the chief pretender. Obi is a chop and clean mouth politician,” Omidire wrote on his known Facebook page.
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election will be held on 25 February 2023 to elect the President and Vice President. Incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) President Muhammadu Buhari is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
