As the 2023 election approaches, Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), on Wednesday aimed a dig at Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Newsbreak reports that speaking at the Eagle Square, the venue of the ongoing National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Lawal acknowledged Obi’s fortitude on social media, but said that would not guarantee victory for him at the polls in 2023.
“Peter Obi talks well but talk is cheap. He talks well on social media. If you are not literate on social media, you won’t know who Peter Obi is. But as we always say, social media campaigns don’t win elections,” Lawal said.
Meanwhile, Obi has reacted to the APC presidential primaries.
Dear Nigerian Youths, as you listen to the aspirants of the ruling party jostle for their party’s ticket, think and ask if they can offer tomorrow what they could not provide in 7 years; and if you are doing better than you were seven years ago. -PO#getyourpvc.

Writing on his verified Twitter handle, the former Anambra State governor told young Nigerians: “Dear Nigerian Youths, as you listen to the aspirants of the ruling party jostle for their party’s ticket, think and ask if they can offer tomorrow what they could not provide in 7 years; and if you are doing better than you were seven years ago.”
