The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it will only consider politicians who are deemed to have added value in their constituencies for elective offices for the 2023 general election.
Iyorchia Ayu, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this known while receiving persons who defected to the party in Otukpo, Benue State, on Tuesday.
According to Ayu, the main opposition party will work with members who have a connection with their people and can make an impact, and not politicians with name reputation but cannot deliver.
He said: “Under my leadership of the PDP, it will not just be about big men who have no connection with their people. If you are a big name in the PDP, let us know what you have done in your polling booths, in your wards and in your local governments.
“Those politicians who stay in Abuja and do not go to their people have no value to the PDP. Those who have value to the PDP are people who are always with their people. They are like fish that swim in the water.”
Also speaking about the incumbent administration at the federal level, Ayu said: “Presently a wrong leadership in the country under the APC has turned Nigeria into a killing field.”
