Senate President Bukola Saraki’s Man Friday, Senator Peter Nwaboshi includes 24 people the federal government said looted public funds. A fresh list was released by the government on Sunday in which Senator Nwaboshi, Chairman of Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, was said to have looted N1.5 billion. Two other senators mentioned in the list were Stella Oduah, who was said to have looted N9.8 billion; and Jonah Jang, a former Plateau state governor, who reportedly stole N12.5 billion.
Others in the list were Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister and spokesperson of the Goodluck Jonathan presidential campaigns organisation, Col. Sambo Dasuki, a former National Security Adviser; and former service chiefs – Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah (retd); Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (retd); Air Marshall Alex Badeh (retd.); Inde Dikko, former Comptroller-General of Customs; Air Marshal Adesola Amosun (retd). (See full list below).
Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, who read out the list said an initial list of six alleged looters was “a tip of the iceberg”, while the latest list was meant to complete it.
“Apparently, this does not mean anything to people whose style is to comment on issues they barely understand, or just to shoot down anything coming from the government.
“The Federal Government has a large number of alleged looters on its list”, Mohammed said.
