It’s the weekend already and you have started picking out dresses or jims to wear on that date/dates you have this weekend. However, you must stay alert and vigilant. By all means, there are ways to avoid wahala when it comes to dating and this article is for women who desire to go on dates but still avoid “had I known” while dating. I have highlighted seven (7) important ways to avoid embarrassment from men while still going on dates.

Stay At Home

Yes dear, stay at home. If no man is seeing you, there will be no room for embarrassment from men. If they tell you they’re in town and wish to see you, either leave them unread or tell them that you are not available to be seen.

Let Him Pick The Location To Rendezvous

If you like, go and choose a place you can’t afford. Majority of the men you’re seeing on the roads of Nigeria like this are just packaging. Don’t go and pick a place when you are uncertain of the person’s financial capability because only a few of these guys will tell you that they can’t afford the location you picked.

Pick A Place That Is Relatively Moderate

If you must pick a place for the sake of safety, be moderate in your choice especially when you’re unsure of the person’s pocket. After you’ve made a mental note of the places you have in mind, provide the options to the young man and ask him if he is fine with any of the options, then let him pick.

Take Your Last Card

Since you have decided not to take the first option by staying at home jeje, as you are going out, take your credit card and some cash with you to avoid a man bleaching your black. It is important to take money with you for your fare or just in case he insists you pay for your meal even after he convinced you to leave your house.

Eat Before Going Out

If you do not have enough money to pay for the restaurant’s meals, better eat from your place. Let me give you a clue; If a man asks you if you’d like to go for brunch or dinner, that means he wishes to feed you. If he’s not specifying the nature of the date and is basically just saying “I want to see you, let’s meet up”, chances are that you guys are very much likely to talk and stare at each other like zombies.

Lower Your Expectations, Increase Your Patience And Maintain Confidence

Whenever you’re going out on a date with men from Nigeria, especially these ones in Lagos, do not have high expectations for a good time because anything can happen. And your patience? fill your bottle of patience up because you will be needing enough of it when dealing with Nigerian men. A woman must always be confident. If you feel like you aren’t, copy Rihanna and pretend.

Let Him Decide On What To Eat

If you’ve noticed, these waiters or waitresses have a way of subconsciously giving the menu to the man first before the woman. As he has collected the menu before you, let him decide on what to eat first. If he picks a bottle of Nestle water, by the grace of God, you’ve eaten before coming out, join him in doing the same to avoid problems (that is if you do not have enough money with you to order your meal). Lucky for you, you came out with your money, order your meal and pay for it. If you are feeling generous, ask if he’d like something more to chew on instead of drinking just living water.

Do not forget to share these important tips even if you are a Nigerian man reading this.
