Nollywood actor, Ugezu J. Ugezu, has objected to a woman kneeling to serve food to her husband.
Ugezu said this in reaction to a post by a young South African woman, who explained that she will kneel to serve her husband like a king because she grew up to see her mother treat her father like that.
“This is literally how we grew up seeing our mothers serve our fathers and as soon as we were old enough, we were taught how to do it and to do it right. My father, a layman and commoner was served like a king in his home because that’s exactly what he is. As soon as he walked in, I would take his jacket and shoes, hand him the remote and proceed to the kitchen,” the woman, Ifeyiwa Mkhize, wrote.
Responding, the Nigerian actor said what should be promoted is “mutual respect of partners”.
He stated that the kneeling should be left for “real kings”, adding that “everyone no be king”.
