Justice Emeka Nwike of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, March 28, 2022, ordered the transfer of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari and six others to the Kuje Correctional Center.
Justice Emeka, in his ruling, directed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to transfer Abba Kyari and others currently facing charges of drug trafficking to prison custody.
This was after Kyari and others allegedly involved in the drug trafficking case were denied bail.
The court, in its ruling, had stated that the agency filed sufficient materials before it to warrant the refusal of bail to Kyari and his Co-Defendants.
The likes of ACP Sunday Ubia, Inspector Simon Agirgba, and Inspector John Nuhu, who are former members of IRT, were also denied bail.
Other Defendants in the charge marked FHC/ABJ/57/2022 are; ASP Bawa James, as well as two drug traffickers that were arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwane.
The judge has fixed April 27 to rule on an application for review of facts.
