Flight Lieutenant Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi and Flight Lieutenant Alfred Ayodeji Olufade, the pilots of the ill-fated Beachcraft 350 aircraft, had just begun to prepare and settle into married life when their lives were cut short in the crash in Kaduna State.
The two air officers were part of the 11 military personnel on board, including Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff, the aircraft when it crashed around 6 pm on Friday.
Asaniyi, the pilot of the ill-fated plane, was about to wed later in the year.
According to a friend of his, who wrote via @_victor_kings on Twitter, the late air force officer had just done his introduction and was planning for his wedding in November when the crash claimed his life.
“Flight lieutenant T.O Asaniyi. He flew the plane, we had his introduction in March. I was going to be his best man,” the Twitter user wrote.
On the other hand, Olufade, the co-pilot, had just recently got married when he lost his life.
It was learnt that the co-pilot got married to his wife in February.
Friends paid tribute to Olufade on social media.
“Olufade is a close associate. He got married February this year. We’re all disheartened!” @SodyBar, a Twitter user, wrote.
Another user, @Sir_KB, wrote, “My heart is in pain. I lost my friend. Flight Lt. AA Olufade. He got hitched months back and often teased me to get out of the bachelorhood. Rest well Freddy.”
“Rest in Peace Alfred. Flight Lt. AA Olufade just married two months ago. Our Heroes,” @OvieNews said.
