Kessington Adebutu, Chairman of Premier Lotto, also called Baba Ijebu, has attracted criticism after he released a telephone conversation between him and Buruji Kashamu, who died two weeks ago after COVID-19 complications.

In the viral video, Kashamu is heard pleading for forgiveness, promising to withdraw all cases against Adebutu.
Kashamu had in 2017 founded Western Lotto to rival Adebutu’s Premier Lotto. In January, 2020, a report said that Western Lotto petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accusing Premier Lotto of economic sabotage and tax fraud.
Social media users have since pounced on Adebutu calling him names for leaking the video.

“I’d never understand the motive behind releasing the clip after the demise of Kashamu. Bringing to fore, native intelligence, the pleading and eventual death speaks volume. An elder should know how to act responsibly & respectively, like why would you do a video – recording?” Omotunde tweeted.

“Hmmm. May his soul rest in peace. It’s true he might have stepped on toes y alive but it is a very wrong thing to mock him in any form after his demise; we all will go, that is sure! I don’t think what Baba ijebu did was right, no matter what,” Wale Joy said.
