Ademola Adeleke, senator who represented Osun-West District, has returned to the state to declare interest in the 2022 governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

Adeleke had left Nigeria shortly after he lost the 2018 gubernatorial election in Osun to the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to pursue higher educational qualification in the United States.

During a welcome back rally at the party secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital, to receive him, Adeleke expressed gratitude to PDP members and his supporters for their loyalty.
