Femi Adesina, presidential spokesperson, has denied advising President Muhammadu Buhari against scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the police.
A report had emerged on Sunday after Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), eventually announced the disbandment of the unit nationwide, accusing Adesina of prevailing on Buhari not to give in to “Twitter Warriors”, when the decision to ban the unit could have been made last Friday.
The presidential spokesperson, however, denied the report in a tweet, describing it as evil and designed to malign him.

“A false story designed to malign me is making the rounds. It says the President was to have scrapped SARS on Friday, but was prevailed on by me not to do so, as government cannot bow to ‘Twitter warriors.’ Evil. Fake. A concoction from the very pit of hell,” he tweeted.
