Super Eagles and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, has been ruled out of today’s clash with Egypt in their second-leg AFCON qualifier game. Ikeme is said to have suffered a stomach upset making him miss training. In his absence, South Africa-based Daniel Akpeyi is expected to take his place. Sunshine Stars keeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa will be his back-up.
The Eagles will take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a return leg game at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria. The Eagles had played a one all draw with Egypt in Kaduna, Mohamed Salah grabbing a late equaliser for the visitors.
South Africa-based Daniel Akpeyi is now expected to be between the posts today with Sunshine Stars shot stopper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa his cover.
