D’Tigress will on Thursday face Mozambique, in the quarterfinal of the 2015 AfroBasket Women holding in Yaounde, Cameroon. Recall Mozambique lost to D’Tigress in the semifinal of the same tournament in 2013.
They will be looking to maintain their winning streak when the face Mozambique, who finished third in Group A behind Cameroon and Mali. Mozambique won three games and lost in the group stages. They scored 344 points and conceded 267. They ranked fifth in the comparative standings.
The Nigerian team coached by Scott Nnaji will depend on their highest scoring players, Adaora Elonu, Nkechi Akashili, and captain Helen Ogunjimi, who have scored 70, 50 and 49 points respectively in the tournament. In the other quarterfinal games, hosts Cameroon, who have remained unbeaten after five matches, will face Egypt; Gabon, who were fourth in Group A will face Angola; and it will be a test of strength between Senegal and Mali.
