The Lagos State Building Construction Agency, on Wednesday, sealed off a six-storey ongoing construction site by Ogundana Bus stop, along Allen Avenue, Ikeja.
The LASBCA team ordered labourers working on the site out of the premises. The construction is being handled by SkySat Technologies Nigeria Limited, who are said to own the property.
Engineers and labourers working on the site, got into a heated argument with the team and armed police officers who escorted them to the place.
An official of LASBCA, who declined to give her name when our correspondent sought for a comment, told Newsbreak.ng the premise was sealed off due to improper documentation.
“We have notified them before today on two occasions on the need to obtain full documentation for the construction. They ignored us, so that is why we are sealing off the place”, she said.
Another official, who also pleaded anonymity, accused the owners of the project who are Arabs, of flouting laws of another country.
“No one can blame us because we gave them sufficient time to complete their documentation. These people who are foreigners, are supposed to follow laid down rules for regulation and standards,” he said.
Engineers working for the company, however refused to comment on the development.
