Super Eagles invitee, Junior Ajayi, will miss the team’s upcoming pre-World Cup friendly against Poland due to visa hitches. Players invited for the match are expected to start arriving the Wroclawon camp on Monday, ahead of the Friendly on March 24.
It has emerged that the player will resort to securing a fast route visa to make it to London instead, for the clash with Serbia on March 27.
“It was just a little issue that was beyond our control,” a source told TheCable.
“We were told to wait for close to 14 days to secure the visa to Wroclaw.
“Ajayi will return to Cairo and get ready to travel to London for the game with Serbia. He is calm about the whole situation.
“He is someone that relishes playing for his fatherland following his exploits with the U23 team in the past,” he added.
Ajayi was voted best foreign player in the Egyptian Premier League last week. The former Shooting Stars forward played a key role in Al Ahly’s crowning as champions of the league for the 40th time.
Consequently, the former U-23 player received his first senior national team call up from Super Eagles’ handler, Gernot Rohr, for the upcoming international friendlies. Rohr has said he will use the games to try out new players.
