Falconets star, Rasheedat Ajibade, has stated that she and her teammates will do everything possible to secure victory against a difficult German side in today’s Group D 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.
The Falconets will hope to get off to the best possible start at this year’s World Cup when they face three-time champions Germany.
At their last meeting, Germany pipped the Falconets 1-0 in the 2014 final after extra-time.
Looking ahead to today’s clash, Ajibade said the level of preparation carried out by the Falconets will see them through.
“Game day!! Today we start our campaign. Tough opposition but we have trained hard and the team will fight for a positive result and victory for Nigeria,” Ajibade wrote on her Twitter handle.
Ajibade will be making her second appearance at the U-20 World Cup after making her debut at the 2016 edition in Papua New Guinea.
The game kicks off at 12:30 pm Nigerian time.
