Badirat Adeyemi, an estranged wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, says the monarch married her when she was 19, Newsbreak reports.
In an Instagram post on Monday, a sad Badirat said the late Alaafin really loved her. “We were practically best of friends”, she says.
Recall that Oba Adeyemi died last Friday at the Afe Babalola University, Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, after a brief illness.
Oba Adeyemi, 83, reigned for 52 years, making him the long-serving Alaafin.
He was said to have 18 wives, with Badirat who separated from him in 2020, one of the women.
