The United Kingdom National Crime Agency has seized £5,000 and $2,000 from Beatrice Agama, mother of former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke. The Westminster Magistrates Court, London also confirmed it seized £10,000 from Melanie Spencer, one of the other people arrested in the case. Contrary to earlier reports, Alison-Madueke was not in court. Only her mother, Agama and Melanie Spencer were arraigned.
Recall that the former minister was arrested on Friday in London and is being investigated for alleged corruption bordering on money laundering and bribery.
