The Akinwunmi Ambode-led government has released N10.8billion for the completion of 114 roads said to be ongoing in the state. The government said the move will ensure their completion by end of June, 2016. Olohuntele Folami, state
Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, made the announcement.

The Commissioner said that the second stage payment of N5.5billon released on Monday represents 61 per cent of the total cost of the 114 roads at N17.85bn. He also said that the state government will ensure the judicious use of the taxes paid by residents.  Folami said that aside completed and ongoing road projects across the metropolis, the government has also embarked on the Light Up Lagos Project which is fast spreading across major highways and streets as well as construction of bridges, flyovers as well as equipping the Police and other security agencies.
