Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, said the government would create a work-free day for electorate who haven’t obtained their permanent voter cards to do so. It said the reason it has not done so is because the INEC is yet deploy voter identification cards for collection by electorate in the state. Amosun spoke during a campaign tour of politically delimited wards in Obafemi/Owode Local Council area.
The governor, who is seeking re-election, promised residents of Ajebo Village in the council area that he would rehabilitate the road leading from OGtv to the community. Amosun noted that the topography of the area is the reason for the current state of disrepair the road is in, while he lauded former Ogun Governor, Olusegun Osoba for constructing the road during his administration.
On her part, Yetunde Onanuga, Amosun’s running mate, also on the entourage, urged women not to sell their voter cards. She also enjoined them to participate in the election.
