The combined team of Amotekun corps and Nigeria police in Osun, has intercepted and sent back six northerners from Niger state, who defied lockdown orders imposed by the federal and state governments.

The northerners, identified as; Adamu Ibrahim, Muhammadu Kabiru, Rufai Abdullahi, Sagiru Sanni, Muhammad Muritala and Idris Musa, were arrested while secretly entering into the state, Within Nigeria reports.
It was gathered that Olawale Ibrahim, their host in Igbajo area of the state, is well known in the community, and was also arrested.

According to the report, the people of the town alerted the chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government Area, Akeem Tokede,
after the strangers entered the community at about 7.00pm on Saturday.
The council chairman informed Amitolu Shittu, Director General of Amotekun in the state, and the DPO of the area, who jointly coordinated the operation.

It was said that the police arrested and detained the illegal immigrants in isolation toll till the following morning when the Amotekun team got there in company of health officials, so as to conduct COVID-19 tests on the northerners.

Amotekun, in collaboration with police, then led them to Osun-Kwara boundary, through Ila-odo, and handed them over to a vehicle going to the north.
