Nkem Okeke, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, has defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okeke defected to the APC at a ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.
The defection of the Anambra Deputy Governor to the national ruling party occurs less than a month to the Anambra governorship election scheduled for 6 November.
Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and Governor of Yobe State; and Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State, presented Okeke to President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, APGA is the ruling party in Anambra state.
