The Anambra State Police Command has said that although no arrest has been made after Sunday’s deadly armed attack on Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Uba’s convoy at Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Council Area of the state, it is “still exploring every avenue to unravel the perpetrators of the attack”.
Newsbreak.ng reports that the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this on Monday. According to him, at least five people were killed by the criminals.
“Two policemen and three civilians were killed in the attack while the two injured police officers are currently receiving treatment.
“No arrest has been made yet as we are still exploring every avenue to unravel the perpetrators of the attack.
“Further details will be communicated as development unfolds,” Punch quotes Ikenga as saying.
This newspaper understands that the state Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, has since deployed intelligence operatives to the appropriate locations to fish out those behind the killings.
