Another woman who was injured during the stampede at Asake’s concert at the O2 Brixton Academy has passed away.
Gabrielle Hutchinson, the second lady, died in hospital in the early hours of Monday, December 19, after attending an Asake concert on Thursday.
She was one of the event’s contracted security providers that evening.
Ms Hutchinson was one of three persons badly hurt as they tried to enter a gig by Nigerian rapper Asake at the south London club without tickets.
A third woman, 21 years old, is still in the hospital and is in critical condition.
Newsbreak Nigeria had earlier reported that at a concert at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, eight individuals were hospitalized, including four who are in critical condition as police abruptly ended Asake’s show in the United Kingdom.
Asake, a Nigerian Afrobeats artist and songwriter, was performing when a “very upsetting” incident occurred, according to the Metropolitan Police.
At around 9.35 p.m. on Thursday, police were summoned to the Stockwell Road property owing to reports of multiple persons attempting to force their way inside. A large number of patients with “injuries suspected to have been caused by crushing” were discovered.
