Barely 10 days after the Katsina Central Market was razed by fire, again another market in the state, the Funtua Central Market, was burnt down Friday midnight.
Funtua is the biggest commercial centre of the state and the headquarters of Katsina South senatorial district also known as Karaduwa Zone.
The fire outbreak started from the section of fairly-used clothes (Okrika/Gwanjo) sellers and spread to other parts of the town’s biggest market located on Katsina Road at the heart of Funtua, the Leadership quoted eyewitnesses as saying.
The cause of the fire outbreak and the level of devastation were yet unknown as of the time of filing this report.
