Armed bandits have reportedly invaded Government Technical College, Kagara, in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

Daily Trust reports that the armed men broke into the school on Sunday night, but met the place empty.
The state government had ordered the closure of all boarding school, following the abduction of students and staff of Government Science Secondary School, Kagara, on February 17.
The victims, which comprised of 27 students, three teachers and 11 others, were released on Saturday after nine days in captivity.
The bandits, who were said to be targeting large-scale abduction, were said to have left the school in anger and abducted seven persons in a nearby community.
“They found the school empty as students and staff have vacated following the closure of schools in the area,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.

It also said the source disclosed that one Alhaji Aminu, director of Kongwama table water was among those abducted by the gunmen.
There were reports that bandits raided villages in Kagara, killing four persons, hours after the release of the students.
A total of 11 persons, including seven women, were kidnapped while cows were rustled.
