Monday Kenneth Eze, Senior Technical Assistant on Media to Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, has resigned.
Eze becomes the second aide to the governor to have resigned in one week.
In the resignation letter dated Tuesday, April 6, 2021, the former aide cited his conscience as the reason for his decision.
“Pursuant to the dictates of my conscience and my rights as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I write to hereby resign my appointment as Senior Technical Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State.
“I thank Ebonyi State Government under Engr. David Umah, my former colleagues and Ebonyi citizenry for the opportunity to serve Ebonyi State, cooperation in the service and support respectively,” he wrote in the letter.
There has been series of resignations in the Ebonyi executive council since Umahi joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) last November.
Eze’s resignation is coming days after Ogbonnia Oko Enyim, the special assistant to Umahi on school monitoring in Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state also resigned his appointment.
