Clement Ebri, the electoral panel Chairman appointed by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has approved the result which declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as winner of the party’s Lagos State governorship primary.
Ebri had on Tuesday nullified the direct primary election which held across the 245 wards in the state, citing the late arrival of essential lists for allocation of electoral officers and the political tension in the state for the cancellation.
But according to PM News, Ebri rescinded his decision after he spoke with Adams Oshiomhole, the APC National Chairman, who dismissed the cancellation of the primary last night.
The report stated that Oshiomhole contacted the former Cross River State governor and asked him to endorse the result after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ebiri has his signature purportedly appended on the election result sheet displayed on Wednesday morning.

The signature of Sanwo-Olu was also appended on the result sheet. However, the signature of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s agent was conspicuously missing as the portion was left blank.
Meanwhile, Sanwo-Olu, the declared winner of the Lagos APC guber primary, gave an acceptance speech in the early hours of Wednesday.
He thanked God; Oshiomhole; Bola Tinubu, the APC National Leader; the Lagos APC leadership; all federal and state legislators; and all APC members in the state for reposing their confidence in him by their votes.
Sanwo-Olu also thanked Governor Ambode for providing a stiff competition and wished him the very best for the remainder of his tenure.
He pledged to run an all-inclusive government for both APC and non-APC members should be win the 2019 general elections and elected state governor.
