The All Progressives Congress, Ondo State chapter, has rejected Igbekele Daudu as its representative on the list of non-career ambassadors sent to the Senate.
President Muhammadu Buhari had forwarded the names last week. The aggrieved group within the party, under aegis of “Movement Against Imposition” alleged anti-party activities against Igbekele.
“A man that is known across the state to be a member of Alliance for Democracy can never be allowed to take a position that is meant for members of the APC”, said Austin Palemo, leader of the group.
Igbekele was said to defected from the APC, along with erstwhile member, Olusola Oke, after the latter failed to the pick the APC governorship ticket.
“It is an act that must be resisted by all members of the APC in the state.
“A name came up yesterday as an ambassadorial designate from Ondo state, Jacobs Daudu. We later got to know that he is the same Igbekele Daudu, as we speak , Mr. Igbekele Daudu is not a member of the APC in the state”, added Pelemo said. The group urged the president and other party leaders to look into the matter.
