The founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie has debunked the claim among a section of Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari has a strong hatred for the Igbo ethnic group.
Newsbreak reports that Okorie stated this recently at the public presentation of his book, “APGA and the Igbo Question”.
Igbo people are primarily found in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States. A sizable Igbo population is also found in Delta and Rivers States. Large ethnic Igbo populations are found in Cameroon, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, as well as outside Africa.
According to the ace politician, Buhari is not a bigot. The 69-year-old gave instance of the president choosing Igbo running mates while contesting under the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).
“It is not true that Buhari hates the Igbos, At a time, he made Chuba Okadigbo and Chief Edwin Umezuoke his running mates and now, see little me, he sent his Special Adviser Media (Femi Adesina) to come for this occasion,” Okorie said.
