Sergio Aguero and Paulo Dybala have been selected by coach Jorge Sampaoli to lead the attack against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their friendly match in Russia on Tuesday. The side will however not feature Lionel Messi, who Sampaoli has said needs some rest following his appearance in a 1-0 friendly win over Russia last Saturday.
Both teams have met seven times with the South Americans winning five times. The Super Eagles beat an under-strength La Albiceleste 4-1 in a friendly in Abuja in 2011.
According to Clarín Deportes, Sampaoli will make five changes to the team that beat Russia with first choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero to make way for reserve keeper, Agustin Marchesin and Paris Saint Germain winger Angel Di María making way for Roma’s Diego Perotti.
Javier Mascherano, Germán Pezzella and Nicolas Otamendi are set to retain their spots in the defence with Ever Banega on the right, Matias Kranevitter in the centre and Giovani Lo Celso on the left of the midfield.
Nigeria will be without five key players, Odion Ighalo, Moses Simon, Ogenyi Onazi, Elderson Echiejile and Victor Moses, who are out with injuries.
