It was gathered that the bullion vans and their retinue of armed policemen escorts had left Jos en-route to Abuja, but immediately after a military check point, the armed robbers, wearing military uniforms, emerged from a bush and attacked a patrol team belonging the Plateau State security outfit, “Operation Rainbow”, attached to Riyom local government.
It was further gathered that the CBN convoy also ran into the armed robbers. The robbers shot a mobile police Squad (MOPOL), Sgt. Anthony Jawa, from Jos, the other (MOPOL) is yet to be identified.
Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna, confirmed the incident.
