Past heads of the military will be invited by the presidential committee investigating arms purchase from 2007 to 2015, an official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who spoke to Punch, has confirmed. He said about three Army and Naval chiefs would be invited to explain how arms were procured during their tenures. This is in line with the presidency’s directive that the EFCC carries out thorough investigations into the alleged mismanagement of funds by some retired and serving officers of the Army and Air Force. Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (rtd), Air Marshal M.D. Umar (rtd) and Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd) were named as the officers to be questioned. The source also said that Gen. Luka Yusuf (June 2007 to August 2008); Abdulrahman Dambazau (August 2008 to September 2010); Azubuike Ihejirika (September 2010 to January 2014); and Kenneth Minimah (2014 to 2015) will be required to make some explanations to the presidency.
