The Nigerian Army have appointed a new spokesman, Brig. Gen. Jude Chukwu. He replaces former spokesman, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, who is currently attending a senior executive course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru,, Jos, Plateau state.
Chukwu is among the 92 colonels promoted to the rank of brigadier-general in November. A handover ceremony has been fixed for Monday.
The appointment comes at a time the Army is dealing with the abduction of students of Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe state.
The Army had announced that over 40 of the abducted girls had been rescued but Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam has said they are yet to be freed.
