The Nigerian Army has admonished Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti, about politicising issues involving it.
Lere Olayinka, spokesman for Fayose had issued a statement on his principal’s behalf, wherein he said the Nigerian Army was corrupt and a reason for its inability to defeat Islamic fundamentalists, Boko Haram.
Fayose based his assessment upon the United States “Country Report on Terrorism”.
Responding on Thursday, the Army debunked Fayose’s claim.
“Gov Ayodele Fayose should stop politicizing the military [and] military OPs, seek other avenues for your relevance. The Army today is not corrupt.
